Another one of my second cousin Marlee – this time a little older!
Probably one of my favorite commissions I’ve done from an old high school friend for his anniversary. Of course it helps to work from such a gorgeous photograph!
I think this was one of the hardest paintings I’ve ever done! This was a birthday present for Mike’s mom. The photo was taken at after one of Mike’s shows at the DC Improv (his whole family surprised him for his 30th birthday!) The lighting isn’t great, but I tried to make do!
The painting in its new home!
My cousin Andrew painted as a present for my Aunt Patti. I cropped a photo of him in Afghanistan, which is one of her favorites of him.
This painting was an order for Judi of her step-mom and dad. I had a lot of fun painting this one and trying to capture their personalities.
This was actually a special commission (I don’t offer this size anymore) of a 16×20″ painting. I had a lot of fun working this big, and my friend was gracious enough to send me a couple photos of the painting framed hanging up in her in-law’s house!
This painting was for an old coworker of his mom and their late dog, Rocky. I had a lot of fun capturing the leaves and trees on their hike. It was a challenge to capture all the detail I could in a 5×7 painting, but I’m really happy with how it came out!
I love this photo of Judi. I spent some time trying to capture her face – I had a hard time making her not look like Julia Roberts! (I still think you can totally see the resemblance.)
Judi was the winner for my very first portrait giveaway. Thanks, Judi!
This is Andre, and I love his shirt and pose! This painting was such a challenge, but I absolutely love how it came out. The reference photo is a little blurry, which always makes a likeness a little difficult, but I think I managed to capture him!
My cousin and her beautiful baby girl! A Father’s Day gift for her dad. Mya’s sweet little face was a challenge, but I love painting people at fun angles. Plus she’s wearing a feisty animal print tank!
I changed Amy’s hair by request. The photo reference was from an Instagram photo, so I took a little liberty to fill out the frame with some color.
